The Chillington Grass Slasher & Weeder is a traditional tool for clearing long grass and weeds. It is remarkably effective and is particularly good for clearing around apple trees, fruit bushes and other woody shrubs.
The Grass Slasher is made from a hardened and tempered single steel blade which is light and easy to use. The blade is sharpened on both sides for quick cutting, use an easy swing motion to slash through grass and weeds with ease.
If you have ever used a strimmer close to trees or bushes you'll know how easy it is to do severe, sometimes terminal damage as the strimmer cord cuts a ring around the stem or trunk. If a ring of bark is removed from a woody stem the water supply is cut off and the plant will die.
The Grass Slasher & Weeder is a far more gentle tool which will cut accurately around vulnerable plants without damage. An excellent traditional tool that really works.
These slashers don't come fully sharpened as it would make it dangerous to transport them. Once you receive your new Slasher just give it a gentle sharpen and it will be ready to go and will last for years to come.
