Description
Eight Ball is a small to medium sized squash that is so called because of its round shape. It has dark green speckled skin that's almost shiny enough to see your reflection in, with tender flesh and a delicious nutty taste.
Like most courgettes, it grows vigorously with an impressive yield. Unlike some other varieties though it has a relatively compact bushy habit that makes it suitable for container growing. Fertile soil and occasional feeding are essential, and they will benefit from the cover of a polytunnel or greenhouse.
Eight Ball can be harvested when immature or when it has grown to full size; it's recommended to harvest when 2-3" in diameter for the best flavour. The larger size is suitable for stuffing while immature fruits are great for steaming.
