Description

Red Russian is a frost hardy variety of kale with green to purple leaves. It has a sweeter taste than other varieties of curly kale. They begin with greyish green leaves which then turn more purple as the cold weather progresses. Like most other kale varieties, frost improves the flavour.

Sowing & Spacing:

Sow from April until early June. Sow each seed into an individual module (approx 1.5cm deep) and plant out after about 4 weeks.

Space plants 50cm (19.68in) apart, with the same spacing between rows.
