Our Premier range of raised beds have proven to be our most popular garden beds. They are perfect for use indoors or outdoors anywhere in the garden, polytunnel, greenhouse, or allotment. The timber used in their construction is thicker than in our Classic range and the boards are planed with rounded edges. Like the Classic range; all wood used in the Premier range is also FSC certified from sustainable sources. Premier raised beds will last for over 10 years of continuous use and are suitable for a wide variety of crops including root vegetables like potatoes and carrots.
We stock a variety of shapes and sizes to suit any vegetable garden, from smaller 3ft x 3ft garden boxes to the extra long 12ft x 4ft raised beds, and also have a range of multi level raised garden beds and some with climbing plant support built in. The raised beds are supplied in kit form but are very easy to assemble with easy to follow instructions and all fixings required included.
Boards: 1.25in thick treated timber boards
Corner Posts: 3in square x 14in high corner posts.
Treated Timber Beds
All the timber we use for our raised beds is pressure treated. The treatment used is certified by the soil association as safe to use with and around organic food crops. It does not discolour or leave an oily feel or smell on the timber. The raised bed kits all retain their natural timber finish and as a result will fit in nicely with any rustic or contemporary garden design type. A lot of raised bed manufacturers treat their timber and then cut into boards for their kits. This keeps costs down and saves time. We do it the opposite way, we cut the timber and then treat it so that none of it remains untreated. Treating before cutting leaves the ends untreated, these will then suck up more moisture and rot or warp quicker than they should. Our raised beds are all about longevity.
