The VigoRoot tube planter is designed for small space gardens such as patios, terraces or even balconies. It's ideal for planting herbs, flowers, strawberries or other small crops.
The specially designed air pruning fabric allows you to grow plants successfully using much less compost.
How Does it Work?
When growing plants in containers you will often have the problem of spiralling roots; this is where the growing roots run out of space in the container and start to grow along the walls and back in on themselves. This can lead to inhibited nutrient uptake.
Breathable air pruning fabric is designed to prevent this by stopping the root's growth when it meets the 'wall' of the container or planter. As the root tip is exposed to air it will dry out which signals to stop growing outwards.
Instead the plant will send out little offshoots or side branches which can enhance the plant's ability to take up moisture and nutrients. The stronger, fibrous root system can make the plant more resistant to harsh weather, pests and disease.
