Description
This 100% natural garden fertiliser provides a wide range of nutrients and trace elements for healthy plant growth.
Better Plants products use 100% organic seaweed. The seaweed grows naturally on the northwest coast of Ireland. It is hand-harvested in shallow waters from different plots that are rotated to ensure the regrowth of the seaweed.
This granular seaweed product contains over 60 trace elements.
Beneficial ingredients include:
Calcium - for healthy shoots and root development
Magnesium - for photosynthesis & protein synthesis
Sulfur - Helps to improve plant resilience and produce better growth.
Iron - for photosynthesis
Born - important for fruit formation, helps the plants uptake of other nutrients.
Manganese & Molybdenum - aids the uptake of nitrogen.
Suitable for use whether you are using raised beds, 'no dig' gardening techniques or more traditional gardening methods.
Soil Conditioner
Granular seaweed can turn sticky soil into light, fluffy soil that is more fertile. When you add water to the granular seaweed it will expand and double in size. Therefore, when you add it to your soil or compost it will hold the moisture better.
This in turn will help plants develop brighter flower petals, greener leaves and stronger roots. It works immediately and acts as a slow release fertilizer, with the nutrients flowing into the soil as you water the plants.
To Use:
Add 100g per sqm to the soil.
When added to compost when repotting, it will hold moisture around the roots and slowly release nutrients to your plants.
For flower beds, sprinkle around a good handful per square metre and rake it around the plants and shrubs.
When making up hanging baskets and window boxes add 150g into the compost; this will slowly release nutrients into the soil and plants.
Add a handful of granular seaweed when transplanting.
Granular seaweed can be used in the winter to condition the soil and prepare it for the next year's growing season.
Adding granular seaweed to your compost bins can also help speed up the composting process.
