This capillary mat can be used along with seedling trays or propagators to provide water to plants and seedlings. Capillary mats are a great solution if you're worried about overwatering, if you want to go on holiday or if you can't always stay on top of irrigation duties. Using a capillary mat is a form of 'self-watering' where the water is absorbed by plants and seedlings through the mat via a wicking action. All you need to do is set up a small water reservoir and the mat will do the rest. It's also a great way to save or conserve water.
