Description
If you think you hate brussels sprouts, Redarling may just be the variety to prove you wrong. These unusual purplke/red sprouts have a milder and nuttier taste than traditional green varieties.
The crop produces a good yield of firm sprouts that are best harvested when they are about 1 inch in height. The distinctive purple colour is brought about by compounds called anthocyanins, which are said to have numerous protective health effects.
While this a relatively slow grower, you will be rewarded with a long-lasting harvest. It is also a hardy crop that can taste even better after a frost.
