The Natural Log Robin Box is made from a hollowed out log with with its bark intact and a large open front hole. The shape and size of the box and the front entrance has been developed specifically to accomodate birds the size of robins, pied wagtails and spotted flycatchers.
The appearance of this natural product may vary according to the shape and characteristics of the available timber, making your birdbox unique. It is perfect for any garden or woodland setting.
The natural air dried FSC certified timber wooden log has low thermal conductivity providing excellent insulation for nesting birds. The wood is beautifully pale in colour and the bark is a mottled brown colour which will weather and fade naturally. It is remarkably light and strong and resistant to cracking and splitting.
The hinged lid can be lifted by loosening the securing screw to allow for cleaning and inspection. Remove any used nesting material and animal waste at the end of the nesting season.
the nest box has a the hole in the wooden back plate at the rear which is to be used for hanging. Place the box in a sheltered spot in the garden away from predators and fixed high enough to deter curious cats.
This box has been develped by Wildlife World after consultation with environmental organisations to help conserve wildlife and raise awareness of important environmental issues.
