    15 year review

I'm beginning to think I will need a new composter shortly which is why I'm here on the site so I thought I'd post my experiences after 15 years of continuous use. The original stand rusted out after about 8 years so I replaced it and now the side panels are beginning to rust through, also the body panels especially on the corners so i've been using filler to keep it going. The hinges also failed and I had some new ones welded on as unable to get spares for older model. I have been very pleased with the operation although I altered the process slightly. I fill each side quite quickly and I empty the older side into a black dustbin with holes drilled in the bottom as not ready to go on the garden and then it is invaded by hundreds of worms which turn it into fine compost with only chickenbones and bits if eggshell recognisable. I get 2 bin fulls a year. Never had a vermin problem and it has never smelt but I do cover it in the winter as rain tends to get in around the panels. All in all I'm very happy with it and it's great to be able to compost all kitchen waste.

As it says on the Tin

As previous poster said. This is not cheap which sometimes can lead to a lot of regret. But i am glad to say that not in this case. Couldn't be happier with the results. Have my unit about a year and the amount it gets through and the compost it produces always amazes me. And with no smell or rodents which was always my bug bare

    It's a yes from me!

Did a lot of research before purchase as it's a big investment for me. Wanted to wait for the first finished load of compost before I gave my verdict. It does take a little time to assemble & I needed help to hold panels. A bit of a learning curve with the ratios as I have plenty of garden waste. After a bit of tweaking and adding more pellets I'm delighted with the end result and the speed. Best of all, no smells and no concerns about rodents hanging around.

    Super Unit

Can get over how much and how quickly this breaks down the compost material and kitchen waste i put in. No smell and makes great compost to go on my beds. Assembly was tricky but Andrews video made all the difference. Throw away the instructions. Useless. All in all really happy i went with this and no more vermin in my garden which is a delight

A nightmare to assemble but a joy to use after that- I don't know how they use in Sweden in the winter- it struggles but does work al be it slowly in the Midlands the winter.Kitchen waste was a problem with rodents on old compost heap but problem now solved -still need to keep original compost heap going for grass and hedge cuttings. Was a bit concerned about durability but after 2 years no problems.Just about to buy a "baby pig"

Got this in December 2019. Really happy with it. It took a few hours to assemble. I did that mainly on my own with a bit of help from my wife. The instructional video is really useful. It is a great system. As previous posters have said, you do need the wood pellets as a carbon source. Cardboard is not enough. For anybody running into difficulties with smell or liquid leaking out of the composter, just add my wood pellets and it will resolve almost all difficulties. It took me 3 or 4 months to fill the first side, because it is breaking down as you add it, so even if it is nearly full today, when you add more in a few days, there is more space again, because the previous contents have broken down. Finally in April, i moved onto the second compartment. The first compartment has broken down now and is only half-full. So the size really reduces a lot during composting. I have been adding used kitchen roll, but it tends to gather into balls and be slower to break down. Neverth

I have owned this for over two years. It composts kitchen waste, garden waste and waste from 3 chickens. The wooden shavings that are removed with the chicken waste are sufficient to maintain healthy composting. It is durable and produces great odour free compost. Composting reduces outside through the winter but so does the quantity of garden waste so I have never exceeded capacity. I would highly recommend for fast, odour and rodent free composting.
