The Jora Compost Tumbler JK125 Also Called Little Pig
We can't believe how quick and efficient this composter is. The Joraform Compost Tumbler takes up very little room and composts so fast you struggle to keep it full. No rodent problems or strong smells, fits easily in a small garden. You can even add cooked meat and fish waste! This unique digester is a home composting system that will recycle household food waste and garden waste of up to 1.5kgs daily.
The "Little Pig" digester is like a large mechanical stomach that literally digests the organic matter you feed it.
A fully insulated, 95cm x 83cm bin that bolts on to the side of your house, it’s clean,
self-contained, and it turns food waste into rich compost faster than the average household can fill it
The Little Pig is so well insulated that the internal temperature reaches around 75 degrees centigrade. At that kind of temperature the micro-organisms work so fast that you can almost see the food breaking down before your eyes
Composting
Composting occurs at temperature intervals of+2 to +78C. Different micro-organisms work at different temperature intervals. Higher temperatures give a higher degree of hygienic composting, and are, therefore, more favourable. With equal moisture distribution and oxygen configuration in the Little Pig unit, plus with continued addition of waste, the temperature will rise to 65-75C. You don't have to buy a thermometer, as you will see the steam rising from the contents. In fact, it can get too hot to bury your hand in it - should you wish to do so!
Two Compartments for Maximum Results
The digester is divided into two compartments. When the first compartment is full (approx. 6 weeks) it is covered with a metal plate (provided). When the second compartment is full the first can be emptied of its’ finished compost.

5 Joraform Compost Tumbler JK125 'Little Pig'
Love my little pig. Ive had it a couple of years now. He will consume garden and kitchen waste in no time at all. I have a small new estate garden with no room for a traditional composter. Luckily I have a metre wide alley between my garage and the neighbours, which is perfect for the pig. Tucked away, tidy, no smells; churning out compost for my raised veg beds in no time. I use wood pellets for the brown component and it works perfectly. I find it more difficult to keep going through the winter months but it works really well and hard through spring g to autumn. A bit tricky to assemble single handedly, but I still managed it! Highly recommended. Proves the old adage which I always follow: you get what you pay for!

Without a doubt the best composter i have ever had. During the summer i was getting full compost out of one of the chambers in 4/5 weeks. Delighted with it. Took me a bit of time to get the mix right but once i did i was away

The maggots will break down the compost for you however they shouldn't be in it once you build up heat in it. It sounds like you might have either a mix that is to wet or to dry hence the heat is not getting going. We are about to produce an instructional video on how best to get the mix right which will be available in the coming weeks. In the meantime if you want to call the office and ask for me i might be able to help you out.
