The Carrot Patio Planter is designed to bring you the unmistakable flavour of homegrown carrots, even if you don't have a large garden to grow them in. They can be used on patios, balconies and in small gardens where space is at a premium.
The fold away patio planter - made from tough 180gsm woven polyethylene - is deep enough for carrots and most other root vegetables as well. Reinforced with rigid tubes, it is sturdy enough to be re-used year after year.
Carrots can grow quite long, so they need deep, unrestricted soil. If carrots meet any obstruction (even a stone), this will cause the carrots to grow mishapen, making them hard to peel and cut up when cooking.
These type of patio planters allow you to adjust the soil type to suit the vegetables you want to grow, which is important when container growing. Whatever medium - or mix of mediums - you use, the planter will contain the soil and keep your vegetables growing neat, clean and tidy.
One planter holds approx. 40 litres of compost.
