Please Note: If ordering worms with a Hungry Bin the worms come direct from our worm growers so they will not arrive together. We try to co-ordinate that they arrive as close together as possible but don't panic. The worms will last in the box and compost they are in for up to 4 weeks. So also no major rush in getting your Hungry Bin set up if that is what you are using them for.
500 gram pack of composting worms for use in the 'Hungry Bin' wormery. 500G is approx 150 - 200 worms depending on the size of the worms. The 500 gram pack can also be used to re-start a disused Worm Works wormery or any other worm farm.
In ideal conditions the worms will double their numbers in 6 weeks providing there is sufficient food available. The full population of worms in a Hungry Bin wormery is 1600 worms, if you start with 200 worms this will take 18 weeks to achieve. 500G or 200 worms is the minimum required to start your Hungry Bin. The more worms you add at the start, the quicker your bin will reach full processing capacity.

5 Worms Galore
I recently adopted half a kilo of composting worms, and it's been the best decision in my life. First off, these little guys are absolute legends in the kitchen scrap world. They tackle apple cores and lettuce leaves like there's no tomorrow. I swear I saw one of them wearing a tiny helmet, diving into a mound of coffee grounds like it was a pool of gold. These pets are seriously low-maintenance – no need for walks, baths, or bedtime stories. Although, I swear I heard tiny snores coming from the compost bin last night. And let's talk about their work ethic! They're like tiny, squirmy, eco-warriors. My garden is now so lush, I'm half expecting the neighbors to start asking if I've found the secret elixir of plant life. In summary, they're mighty, and they've turned composting into a hilarious eco-adventure. Ten out of ten, would recommend for a great compost!
