Strawberry mats are round plant protection mats that suppress weeds and retain moisture, they contain copper to deter slugs and snails. These mats are ideal for strawberry, hosta, lettuce and other vegetable plants. They can be used with plant pots too as long as there is a 10-15cm barrier around the base of the pot.

The copper in the mats is what actively keeps slugs and snails away as it gives them a kind of electric shock and they go out of their way to avoid it.
These strawberry mats are reusable so will last several seasons in the garden.
