Fruit tree grease can be used on planters or trees to prevent crawling insects from climbing up and eating your plants. It is ideal for use on fruit trees to stop pests like winter moths.
Directions (From the manufacturer):
Create a complete band around the tree to ensure no pests can climb up.
The band should be applied at least 45cm off the ground.
Using a stiff brush create a ring approximately 10cm wide around the trunk of the tree making sure that the grease fills any cracks or crevices.
Use on fruit trees in the Autumn and keep sticky until the Spring.
Top up if necessary to ensure band remains sticky.
Store in cool, well ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed, keep away from direct sunlight, keep at temperatures between 15°C and 40°C.
