The Feedomatic Treadle Feeder minimises food waste and spoilage with its clever design. A galvanised metal door flap covers the feeding trough when not in use. When a chicken stands on the treadle, this triggers the flap into opening and provides access to the trough. Mice, rats or smaller wild birds will not have enough weight to open the flap (unless it's some kind of super-rat). Once the chicken or hen steps back off the treadle, the feeding area will be safely covered again.
The feeder is provided with partitions and a spill edge, both of which reduce spillage considerably. The treadle step has large openings which will allow litter or faeces to fall through, ensuring a clean and hygienic feeding environment. Access to the food can be adjusted with 5 different settings.
The combination of plastic and metal makes for much less noise than other models, allowing poultry to eat without getting spooked.
