Keep Your Soil At The Perfect Temperature For Growing
This digital thermostat is ideal for use in conjunction with our Bio Green soil warming cables.
Perfect for seed propagation, the Bio Green thermostat enables you to keep your raised beds at the optimum temperature. It is also great for getting an earlier start in the year or for quick frost protection: if temperatures dip suddenly and unexpectedly, you can use the Thermo 2 along with a soil warming cable to regulate the temperature of the soil.
The Thermo 2 has a very wide adjustment range, from -50 to + 99°C. It can be used both for heating in winter or ventilation in summer.
Thermostat Uses
- This precise thermometer can be configured to work with the heating cable in your propagator or heat bench.
- It can be used in combination with a greenhouse heater.
- It can be also be used to cool your greenhouse or improve air circulation.
- It can help automatically open roof vents or control the actuators on your ridge ventilation system.
- The Thermo 2 can even regulate sub-zero temperatures: which is perfect for plants that require just slight frosts or overwintering.
Why use a thermostat?
- It will save on your electricity bill.
- You can set your seed bed at the optimum temp, so your warming cable will only come on when it's needed.
- You can set your warming cable for different temperatures depending on the seed you are germinating.
- Great standby frost protection if your greenhouse or tunnel gets too cold early in the year.

4 Bio Green Digital Thermostat -Thermo 2
Works well apart from one aspect. I am colour blind with much reduced red vision and I cannot read the display in my greenhouse where the ambient light intensity is obviously high. I have to ask my wife to read the display. I can see the display in the late evening and at night but this aspect of its performance is incredibly irritating and should be addressed.

4 Soil Warming Cable Thermostat - Biogreen
The thermostat works well with the cable but there are 2 degrees in difference with my soil thermometer so I adjust it between the 2.

Make sure your warming bench is built close to a socket if you don't want to use an extension as the lead is quite short and there is no option to hard wire a cable on this model (unlike the video tutorial model). It also comes with a European 2 pin plug, so be prepared to change it. Once installed its very easy to set up, just turn on and set desired temp with up/down buttons. The temp sensor has an ample cable. On the whole a very nice unit but maybe a little pricey.

Of course. If you are growing in trays put it directly in to the compost of one of the trays. It is the temperature of the compost that is all important
