Large Raised Garden Ponds

Large wooden outdoor garden pond that sits above ground and can be placed on any surface. This eliminates the need for any digging. Our raised ponds are made from extra thick timber and are easy to assemble. They come with all required fittings and instructions. A raised pond is great for complementing a raised vegetable garden or for use as a stand alone koi and other fish pond, water plant garden or just a rustic timber water structure for the garden. This pond is our largest one, measuring 6ft x 6ft and has a wide border edge around the top that is perfect for sitting on or putting pots and pond additions onto. Comes with 16oz Rubber Mallet for assembly.

This product is supplied in kit form comprising the raised pond assembly, edging boards and PVC liner. A top mounted planter to house a water feature or foliage is available separately.

The timber used is extra thick 4.5cm (1.75in) timber boards that slot together with a tongue and groove system incorporating a 'Lock Cut' that make them quite difficult to take apart. The boards have a stylish ridged face on the outside.

With continued exposure to water some timber products may be susceptible to damage. We recommend that the top boards are protected with Restol, a wood oil preservative. Wood oil is a very fine natural oil which is able to penetrate the timber, nourishing and protecting it from the inside out. The fact that is derived from natural oils makes it non-toxic and significantly less harmful to organic and living materials.

Dimensions:
6ft x 6ft x 16in high
Timber used is 4.5cm (1.75in) thick
Top Border is 14cm wide (5.5in). The tops are included as standard with all ponds.

Internal pond dimensions: 62in (1565mm) x 62in (1565mm)

Capacity in gallons and litres inc approx (conservative estimate) number of fish:
16.5 inches (42 cm) high = 224 Gallons (1022 Litres) = 8 x 2 inch goldfish.
22 inches high (56cm) = 299 Gallons (1363 Litres) = 10 x 2 inch goldfish.
26.5 inches high (67cm) = 358 Gallons (1631 Litres) = 12 x 2inch goldfish.
32 inches high (81cm) = 433 Gallons (1971 Litres) = 14 x 2 inch goldfish.
37.5. inches high (95cm) = 508 Gallons (2312 Litres) = 16 x 2 inch goldfish.
44 inches high (110cm) = 588 Gallons (2677 Litres) = 18 x 2 inch goldfish.

Really pleased with the 6 x 6 raised pond we have purchased, looks like good quality wood very sturdy and very easy to assemble even for two pensioners. Day 2 painted, liner put in and water, can’t wait for tomorrow to get some plants in and a pump. A real garden statement, love it.

I had been eying up the 6x6 tallest pond for a while and finally made my purchase last month. It arrived fairly quickly on a well wrapped pallet. Looked a little daunting to begin with, but everything was fairly straightforward enough. Once built, which took a good few hours with a little help frpm my wofe and Brother, the pond is sturdy, looks tidy and compact and appears very much as though it has been well built to last. I currently have 3 goldfish happily living the 'pond life'in their new home, and will be adding a few Koi shortly too. It's a lovely item of which I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a sturdy build fish/koi pond. Just don't make the common mistake and overfill if you're considering keeping koi fish, as they do grow rather large. Any questions you might have I would be happy to answer!

This pond replaces a Log built hex pond. The quality of quick crop is far superior. It took only 15 mins to build half an hour to fit the liner and completed with filling and final liner fixing in three hours. Plants moved in next day and fish transferred 6 days later, they and I love it! Fantastic value excellent service and extremely helpful staff. Thank you very much.

Hi Ian The Laguna 7000 is the best pump for the 6ft x 6ft 26.5 inch pond. Everything else is supplied so you won't need anything else apart from a flat surface to put it on Regards Niall Quickcrop

What would be the delivery charge to the Isle of Wight.
Answered by Niall
on October 15th, 2018
Hi Peter I am afraid the couriers we use for heavy goods Tuffnells don't cover the Isle of Wight for deliveries. As a result i would have to use another carrier which works out very expensive. It would be an additional £80 for delivery. Sorry about this. Niall Quickcrop

Hi,looking at the 6x6x44.it mentions 18x2" goldfish. What about Koi? Obviously they grow bigger than goldfish, how many Koi would you recommend?
Answered by Niall
on July 12th, 2018
Hi Dean I am afraid Koi need a lot of space so a pond of this size would really only take 3 to 4 large Koi. Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Cheryl

Do these come with a timber base
Answered by Niall
on June 22nd, 2018
No Cheryl. They are for sitting on a patio or garden grass etc so no need for a base. People very often put a layer of sand down on the base for the liner to sit on before the water goes in Regards Niall Quickcrop
Asked By Jo Byrne
on June 02nd, 2018
What do you suggest using to create planting shelves for marginal plants?
Answered by Andrew
on June 05th, 2018
Hi Jo I would be inclined to use blocks on the base of the pond for marginal plants or use a floating planter. We are working on shelving designs in our ponds but they do make the liner more difficult to install. If you don't want blocks to take up too much room you could build and underwater 'bench' using bricks and a concrete paving slab as a top. I hope this helps. Andrew

Asked By Vince Herd
on February 26th, 2018
What is a loose pond liner please
Answered by Niall
on February 26th, 2018
Morning Vince It is a liner that is not preformed to fit the exact pond size so it is a loose and just folds out to fit the pond. It is a good thick liner that you place inside the pond once built. Tack it to the top boards and then fit the finishing top. Once you fill the pond with water it then has the ability to form to the shape of the pond I hope this explains a bit better although i must admit it is hard enough to explain. Hi Diana. It is indeed pressure treated. We guarantee it for 8 years but to be honest it should last comfortably 10/15 years.

Hello Doric. The Liners are thick plastic loose pond liners so not box liners. We can of course supply spares of the boards or slats at any time.

Hi looking at 6ft by 6ft by 44inch and was thinking of putting a 4ft by 4ft by 18inch sump in bottom what size liner do you think I would need and is it something you could supply
Answered by Andrew
on September 18th, 2017
Hi Damon. Unfortunately the widest liner we currently stock is 4m so won't be large enough for your plan with sump (you will need min 5 meters with a little more for error). I am checking now if we can get larger liners and will be back to you with more info.

Once constructed can you take them apart if you have to move them ?
Answered by Andrew
on February 14th, 2017
Yes Lucy however it will take an element of brute force as the tongues and grooves on the boards are very tight fitting. That said you could empty the pond and 2/3 people lift it to another location close by quite easily.

Answered by Andrew
on November 29th, 2016
Hi Jan. The 3m x 3m liner will be a little small for the 6ft pond as it won't reach completely over the sides. You could use it as an extra protective liner on the inside and staple it to the sides before adding the larger pond liner. I hope this helps. Andrew
