Large Garden Ponds
Large wooden outdoor garden pond that sits above ground and can be placed on any surface. This eliminates the need for any digging. Our raised ponds are made from extra thick timber and are easy to assemble. They come with all required fittings and instructions.
A raised pond is great for complementing a raised vegetable garden or for use as a stand alone koi and other fish pond, water plant garden or just a rustic timber water structure for the garden.
The pond has a wide border edge around the top that is perfect for sitting on or putting pots and pond additions onto.
This product is supplied in kit form comprising the raised pond assembly, edging boards and PVC liner. A top mounted planter to house a water feature or foliage is available separately.
The timber used is extra thick 4.5cm (1.75in) timber boards that slot together with a tongue and groove system incorporating a 'Lock Cut' that make them quite difficult to take apart. The boards have a stylish ridged face on the outside. For assembly use a Rubber mallet or a standard hammer with an old piece of wood.
With continued exposure to water some timber products may be susceptible to damage. We recommend that the top boards are protected with Restol, a wood oil preservative. Wood oil is a very fine natural oil which is able to penetrate the timber, nourishing and protecting it from the inside out. The fact that is derived from natural oils makes it non-toxic and significantly less harmful to organic and living materials.

5 Raised Pond With Liner 6ft x 4ft
After querying and receiving your replies about the liner and pond, I purchased same and am very pleased with the product, delivery and ease of assembly. The liner required a bit of patience getting it into the corners and trying to keep the folds down to 2 at each corner but my wife and I succeeded. I used a rubber headed mallet and block of wood to assemble the pond. A staple gun to secure the liner along the edge of the pond before drilling pilot holes and screwing the top boards in place. Your on site video of how to assemble the pond was very useful. Very satisfied with the pond as are my fish.

5 Raised Pond With Liner 6ft x 4ft
We ordered an above ground garden pond, 6ft x 4ft x 26½inches high. It arrived in 4 well sealed packs which are very heavy. I strongly recommend you watch the video on how this goes together as it made building it an absolute breeze with no issues during assembly. I used a sledge hammer instead of a rubber mallet as it was more effective in driving the joints home. Just be sure to hit the wood square on and use another protective piece of wood so as not to damage the structure. It took about 30 minutes to assemble and 2 hours to fill with water. Fantastic product!

4 Raised Pond With Liner 6ft x 4ft
I have just erected a 6ftx4ft x26.5" pond. Fortunately I had watched the video so had a good idea how it went together. Have to say it was a lot harder to assemble that the guy on the video makes it sound. Some of the joints were very tough to slot together especially if the board had got a slight warp in it. My kit did not come with a rubber mallet so I used a sledge hammer and a piece of spare timber to protect the boards. It took quite a few heavy blows to assemble. My kit also came with a 3mx3m liner and I noted that it should have been a 4mx3m liner for this depth of pool. I was assured that the 3mx3m would be OK. However, although I did manage to fit it into the pool, there was very little spare liner on the length and it was quite tricky to get it to cover the long length and the ends. Could have dome with at least another 1ft for comfort. Also there were no screws to screw down the top boards, so had to find some long screws myself. Now assembled and looks very sturdy. Now

Technically you could fit a shelf to raise the pump but this would add complications fitting the liner. The easier solution would be to build up bricks or blocks on the base of the pond and place your pump on top of these. I hope this helps. Andrew See full answer »

The box liner just fits better but once in place the longevity of the liners is the same. Once they don't get a nick after the water has gone in they will comfortably last 20 years. The box liner is £195 pounds more than the one supplied.
