Beet Bulls Blood is better used for its leaves in a salad as the baby leaves give a great salty tinge to a salad. However it still produces lovely flavoured beets.

Description

Bulls Blood is better known as a leaf beet for beet greens but also produces a tasty root like other beetroot varieties. The attractive maroon leaves can grow quite large, but are at their best if picked early. The smaller sweet leaves make a great salad addition or can be cooked as an alternative to spinach. The roots are at their best when they reach approx 3 inches in diameter. A very hardy plant, Bulls Blood Leaf Beets are also used as ornamental beets.
