5 Gro Grid Planting Mat 'A' for Kale, Spinach, Strawberries
I use my grow mat this year down the allotment for my strawberries onions and garlic and they are the biggest on the plot. I attributed it to the water retention using the mat. So far I have a mat in every size and have planted potatoes, swede, celeriac, beetroot, peas and beans and mini sweet corn. I’m waiting for the weather to improve to plant my brassicas. So while all around me others are weeding I am confident I will be sitting there enjoying a glass of Merlot. Thank you Quickcrop.

5 Gro Grid Planting Mat 'A' for Kale, Spinach, Strawberries
I used a growing grid last year with my leeks and it was fantastic for weed control. the leek done very well, only I find it hard to harvest through the holes. the rootballs are very large and I seem to cut into the bottom of the leek rather than the roots when harvesting single plants. but for time efficient weed control - genius!

It would be gone in jig time with the rain and wind. Literally would not last more than a week or two. That said there might be the option to make them out of a biodegradeable material of some sort so definitely worth a look. There is an element of recycling in the material used in that these Gro Grids can literally be re-used every year. I have one on the go for 10 years now.

It is of course. The water can pass down through the Gro Grids so even if the dripping point on your irrigation pipe is not over one of the holes on the mat it will still get down in to the soil
