Raised Vegetable Wall Planter

The wall hugger is different from regular vegtrug trough planters as it has one flat side and can be placed flat up against a wall or fence for vertical growing. The wall hugger is ideal for narrow spaces and can be placed anywhere from the polytunnel or greenhouse, to a balcony, patio, or by the back door. The Vegtrug range are easy access and are the perfect height for wheelchair users. The unique V shape allows for deep rooted crops like carrots and parsnips.

The feet of this vegtrug have protective covers to prevent the timber from soaking up water and potentially splitting. A pre-formed and fitted liner is included and can be replaced at a later date if need be. The height of the planter keeps your produce away from slugs and snails and animals. The Vegtrug wall hugger planter is easy to assemble and comes in a neat flat pack kit with full assembly instructions.

Relatively easy to assemble. I like the look of the timber, and the shape of the trug. Placed it in a good sheltered sunny spot (against a south-facing stone wall). USE: a bit of a learning curve or experiment this year. Not sure if I have been using the space to its advantage, as probably overcrowded it with too many types of plant (mangetout, beans, spinach, lettuce, courgettes, strawberries, parsley, mint...). Find, for example, courgette leaves are shading cherry tomatoes too much. (Should have gone for climbing variety of tomato.) One unexpected negative: the level of insect life (that I thought I would be avoiding in a raised bed). WOULD really APPRECIATE more video material on successful use of these things. Better to grow just one or two or three plants in abundance? Also would like to know: for a winter spinach crop (say) should one change the soil?

Would I be able to paint the outside of it with wood paint?

You can but there is no need to as the Trugs are already stained. If you are using paint on the outside it might be best to try and get a lead free one.

What kind of wood is it and what is the height of the underneath bit on the 180cm? I'm thinking of using it in the front of the house against the front fence wall and putting recycle bins under it.

It is 80cm underneath running as low as 50cm in the very centre. I hope i am explaining that alright. The wood used is a soft treated pine and should easily last 8/10 years in the UK/Irish climate.

Hi, Is the wood treated with something approved by soil association? Otherwise what is the best liner material not to have the food contaminated with chemicals please? Also how much can we expect to plant in this planter please? Many thanks

Hi Aurelie. Thank you for your questions. The wood is treated with Tanalith E which is certified by the Soil Association but they also come with a liner to prevent any of the soil from leaching out of the unit. Each of the sections in the planter will take roughly two herb plants.

How long does delivery take?
Stock permitting we aim to dispatch your goods within 1 - 2 working days of receiving your order. The average time taken from order to delivery is 4 - 5 days in the UK and Ireland, and up to 6 working days for France, Germany and the Benelux countries.

Can I track the parcel myself?
When the order has been dispatched we will provide you with a tracking number for your shipment, you will be able to log on to the Parcel Force website and see where your parcel is at any time. You can also call the office on 01788 298 795 or email info@quickcrop.co.uk if you need more information.

What If I'm not in at time of delivery?
The driver will leave a note with the depot contact number. Delivery can be arranged for the next day or a later date. The driver will not leave the parcel without a signature however they can leave your parcel with a neighbour if instructed to do so in our notes section at the checkout stage on the website. Alternatively if you are not home after Parcelforce/GLS have attempted delivery on 2 consecutive days they will leave a note to let you know that your parcel has been left at your local Post Office for collection.

I'm ordering several items, do they all arrive at the same time?
All items dispatched at the same time will normally be delivered in one delivery. The exceptions are bulk bags of soil or compost which comes in a separate delivery using a different delivery company.

What if my parcel is damaged or I wish to return the goods I have ordered?
Contact our office on 01788 298 795 and we will arrange collection and refund or replacement of faulty or damaged goods free of charge. We have a 'no quibble' policy on damages and will replace immediately once we receive an emailed photo of the damaged item.

If you wish to return an undamaged item for any reason we do charge a collection fee which may vary depending on the number of parcels, each case is different so please call us to arrange. Quickcrop No Hassle Returns Policy

Great customer service is what we are all about. You will never have to worry about damages, the item not being as expected or simply deciding you don’t want the item and you want to return it. We have a Free 30 day returns policy on Damaged goods but even if the item is not damaged you can return in for a Refund less a 15% restocking charge at any time within 30 days. We will even arrange collection from you Free of Charge. We can’t get fairer than that.

Please note that the goods have to arrive back to us in the same condition that they left us so if you have opened your parcel you must ensure it is well enough packed to make it back to us not damaged.

Damaged Goods Returns
If the parcel is visibly damaged upon delivery, Do Not Sign for the Order. After that just email us on quickcrop@gmail.com and we will do the rest. Obviously it is not always possible to spot a damage in that moment of delivery so don’t worry. As soon as you open your parcel if the goods are not as they should be just email us a photo of the issue clearly explaining the problem. We will be back to you within the day with a solution. This is normally to arrange a collection at a time that suits you and arrange for a replacement to be sent out. We have very few damages so we act very quickly. Please note the Photo is important so that we can claim off our couriers.

A Simple Return
So you have decided on receipt of the goods that you simple don’t want them. Again simple. Just email us at quickcrop@gmail.com explaining that we want to return your goods clearly stating your name and your order number. We will arrange for collection on an agreed day. Once the goods arrive back in our warehouse and they have been checked as in the condition they left us we will refund you less 15% of the product value. We won’t even charge you for the collection. Now it doesn’t get any better than that.

European Returns
Customers outside of the UK and Ireland are covered by the damages Returns policy above. If you want to return your goods due to the fact that you no longer want it you simply email us on quickcrop@gmail.com and let us know. You will then need to return your goods to the following address and once it arrives back to us in the condition it left us we will refund you less the 15% restocking charge.
