In a nutshell....

The Vegtrug Cold frame is an easy to assemble timber frame with safety shatter proof polycarbonate for heat retention over winter. This one is to fit the 1 metre long vegtrug, also available in 1.8 metre length on this site

Vegtrug Cold frames are flat pack frames made from treated timber and safety shatter proof polycarbonate panels, they are easy to assemble and come with full assembly instructions. The frames offer much greater heat retention over winter and also enable you to start growing earlier in the year by warming up the soil much faster. The frame opens up fully and has a ventilation post for easy access. Vegtrug cold frames do not need to be used strictly with Vegtrug planters, as they work just as well directly on the ground.

Size: Small Cold Frame will fit a 1 metre vegtrug planter

3.5mm polycarbonate for maximum insulation
N.B.: These will not fit a Wallhugger Vegtrug.

Hi Ann. I am afraid I can't say for sure, we are due a delivery from Vegtrug in August and have grey cold frames ordered but I know they are struggling to keep up with orders themselves so am going to say it's unlikely for 2020 but we will have them again in 2021

I have a raised timber framed bed outside measurements are 1.19m x 800mm. Would you have a polycover and frame to suit or could you recommend some thing something else ? Thank you

Hi Donal If you go to the raised bed section on the website there is a range called Mini Polytunnels. You can make a cover to whatever size you want with this range Regards Niall Quickcrop

I have the cover and frame for the 1m TRUG. Do I need the cold frame? Are there any advantages of a cold frame over the cover? Thanks

Hi Peter To be honest there are not any major advantages apart from that it is a lot more robust than the frame and cover in windy conditions. That said i tend not to leave the top on my Vegtrug in the worst of the winter anyway. The coldframe does look nicer on the top of the Vegtrug. Regards Niall Quickcrop

I have ordered a Herb VegTrug and was wondering if this would be a useful addition, especially for the winter to keep the herbs producing for longer? I had thought of the standard frame and poly cover but would this be better?

Hi Christine I am afraid the 1m frame and cover won't fit on the Herb planter. It will be to big for it and at present Vegtrug don't do a cover for the Herb planter. The reason for this is that Herbs are a lot harder and will last fine without a cover. Regards Niall Quickcrop

Important Delivery Information October 2020 - Covid 19

We will be operating our business as usual over the coming months as thankfully, current lockdown measures haven't required us to close our warehouses. Delivery times had been impacted earlier in the year with the increase in online shopping putting immense strain on couriers. We are nearly back to normal here in Quickcrop so we expect to have your order to you within 2-5 working days, and 7-10 working days for Raised Bed orders.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience which may have been caused due to Covid-19 and very much appreciate your patience during this time. Some of our customers had delays in receiving their orders in a timely manner but thankfully 99% of orders got through on schedule.

Unless 10 working days have elapsed since you placed your order please try to avoid contacting the office for delivery information as answering queries further slows packing. The Exception to this is our raised ponds which will take two weeks to be dispatched from our warehouse and and delivered to you. Of course if you have received a damaged item, are missing something or are over the 10 day lead time please feel free to email us at and we will respond quickly, usually within the hour.


Flat shipping rate of £5.95

All our UK deliveries are only £5.95 no matter how many products we deliver anywhere in mainland UK. We also deliver to other European countries, please see our rates below.

Our delivery fee is an absolute bargain and is far cheaper than any of our competitors, please take this into account when comparing product prices.

We deliver nationwide to the UK, the island of Ireland, Austria, Benelux Countries, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. Please see our delivery rates below:

£5.95 - The United Kingdom and Island of Ireland (Highlands and Islands may incur a surcharge, please contact us on 0044 1788 298 795 for details)

£9.95 - Austria, Belguim, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, France, Germany, Switzerland.


How long does delivery take?
Stock permitting we aim to dispatch your goods within 2 - 3 working days of receiving your order. The average time taken from order to delivery is 4 - 5 days in the UK and Ireland, and up to 6 working days for France, Germany and the Benelux countries.

Can I track the parcel myself?
When the order has been dispatched we will provide you with a tracking number for your shipment, you will be able to log on to the Parcel Force website and see where your parcel is at any time. You can also call the office on 01788 298 795 or email if you need more information.

What If I'm not in at time of delivery?
The driver will leave a note with the depot contact number. Delivery can be arranged for the next day or a later date. The driver will not leave the parcel without a signature however they can leave your parcel with a neighbour if instructed to do so in our notes section at the checkout stage on the website. Alternatively if you are not home after Parcelforce/GLS have attempted delivery on 2 consecutive days they will leave a note to let you know that your parcel has been left at your local Post Office for collection.

I'm ordering several items, do they all arrive at the same time?
All items dispatched at the same time will normally be delivered in one delivery. The exceptions are bulk bags of soil or compost which comes in a separate delivery using a different delivery company.

What if my parcel is damaged or I wish to return the goods I have ordered?
Contact our office on 01788 298 795 and we will arrange collection and refund or replacement of faulty or damaged goods free of charge. We have a 'no quibble' policy on damages and will replace immediately once we receive an emailed photo of the damaged item.

If you wish to return an undamaged item for any reason we do charge a collection fee which may vary depending on the number of parcels, each case is different so please call us to arrange. Quickcrop Returns Policy

Great customer service is what we are all about. You will never have to worry about damages, the item not being as expected or simply deciding you don’t want the item and you wish to return it. If you've changed your mind about your purchase, please return it in its original condition with proof of purchase within 35 days of receiving your order and we'll exchange or refund it. We will also refund the standard delivery charge, provided you return the full order. If you're only returning some of the items on your order, then we will only refund the cost of those items. We do not cover the cost of returning the item to our warehouse.

Please note that the goods must be returned in the same condition that they left us in so if you have opened your parcel you must ensure it is well enough packed to arrive undamaged.

Damaged Goods Returns
If the parcel is visibly damaged upon delivery, Do Not Sign for the Order. After that just email us on and we will do the rest. Obviously it is not always possible to spot a damage in that moment of delivery so don’t worry. As soon as you open your parcel if the goods are not as they should be just email us a photo of the issue clearly explaining the problem. We will be back to you within the day with a solution. This is normally to arrange a collection at a time that suits you and arrange for a replacement to be sent out. We have very few damages so we act very quickly. Please note the photo is important so we can show the damage to our couriers and be refunded for the delivery cost.

A Simple Return
So you have decided on receipt of the goods that you simply don’t want them. Just email us at explaining that you want to return your goods stating your name and your order number. It is your responsibility to return the goods to us but once they have been received and checked at our end we will issue the refund minus the original delivery charge.

European Returns
Customers outside of the UK and Ireland are covered by the damages Returns policy above. If you want to return your goods due to the fact that you no longer want it you simply email us on and let us know. You will then need to return your goods to the following address and once it arrives back to us in the condition it left us we will refund you the cost minus the original delivery charge.
