Description
Spinach Erbette is a perpetual spinach so is a leaf beet rather than true spinach. Erbette is an Italian cultivar of perpetual spinach which has narrower leaves and midribs and more tender leaves. Very good resistance to bolting makes this variety well suited to Summer growing, will also overwinter well in a polytunnel for nearly year round production.
Erbette responds very well to repeat cutting making giving surprisingly large harvests from a relatively small space. Leaves can be eaten raw as baby leaf in salads, larger leaves can be steamed or included it quiches or lasagne as you would with annual spinach.
