Great idea but there must be some variation in the precise sizes of pipe and/or fittings becuase 25mm MDPE pipe would not fit into the kit I received (much too tight) but reaming and drilling rendered them a suitably tight, but viable, fit.

What a brilliant idea, been looking for easy way to build mini poly tunnel for ages, all components very good quality and easy to put together a very useful mini poly tunnel, would definitely recommend

Just purchased the mini polytunnel. Tube connectors and supports are excellent. The tight fit of the tubing gives great support and structure to the tunnel. highly recommended

This is an excellent product, I watched the instruction Youtube and got assistance with the timber frame as my bed was on the large side. We cut the water pipe to size and the connectors fitted easily. If you measure correctly and follow the instructions you should be very pleased with the result. I plan to exchange my micromesh Summer cover for polytunnel plastic to allow me extend the growing season in my beds. I had previously experimented with all types of DIY cloche covers and none were as successful. This product allows me to make a bespoke cover for my own raised beds irrespective of size. Then if you are not confident of the skills required to master the project you can also purchase one in kit form to fit some of the companies own braised beds. Well done.

Hi David The connectors are as shown on the site but they do have 4 prongs to take 4 pipes. Not sure if that will work for a Dome but it should Niall Quickcrop

The 6ft x 3ft Mini polytunnel can go on a 6 x 2 bed. It just means that it will be higher in the centre Niall Quickcrop

Hi Kevin The widest mini polytunnels we do are 4ft wide. You can go longer if you buy the kit yourself and cut the wood to size but not wider as otherwise the span in the centre will be to low Niall Quickcrop

Hi What component parts do I require (not including wood) for a raised bed measuring 5.5ft x 5ft?.Please
Answered by Andrew
on July 30th, 2020
Hi Raymond. I am afraid I think a 5 foot span may be a little unwieldy for the mini poly tunnel system and would recommend 4ft wide max. If you did want to try it you would need 4 corner brackets, 2 centre brackets and 3 x tube connectors (the same as a 6x4) but would need longer tubing, approx lengths of 1.5m. I hope this helps. Hi Janet You would just need 4 of the corner supports and 2 of the cross top supports along with the piping. You would have to source the wood locally as we don't have it cut to that size i am afraid Niall Quickcrop

Hi Quickcrop My Raised Veg Bed is 250cm * 90cm (approx. 8ft * 3ft). Can you kindly recommend exactly what components I would need to construct the kit? I'm looking at the ready made & cannot see anything that suits. Can you recommend a 'made to measure' kit? I do not require any timber frame, just components, tube & mesh covering
Answered by Niall
on April 30th, 2020
Hi Sanj You will need 3 of the corner brackets, 4 of the centre brackets and 3 of the top tube connectors. 11 pieces of the piping and enough mesh to cover in total. We recommend the 6m x 3.6m pack which is more than you need but the best one to make sure it goes on well Niall Quickcrop

Can the Black 25mm piping be used instead of blue? I've googled everything I can thing of to see what the difference is and all anyone mentions is blue for potable, black for non-potable. I wondered if you used the blue because it was stronger or bendier or for some other reason.
Answered by Niall
on August 09th, 2019
Hi Rachel As far as i am aware the internal dimensions on the black piping are not the same as the blue piping which means that it is to flexible and as a result not as strong in high winds which is one of the main purposes of the Mini Polytunnels. I can understand why visually you might not want the blue piping in your garden however it is the best we have come across for the job in hand Niall Quickcrop

Answered by Niall

Hi John As far as we were aware there was only 25mm blue piping on the market but it is definitely the 25mm external dimensions that are required. Anything wider will not fit Niall Quickcrop

Hi Niall, I bought 16 corner pieces, they are not as you said below. They are for a pipe with external diameter of 25mm. I had a roll of blue pipe inch pipe (25mm internal diameter). Maybe you could supply a diagram with dimensions, it would help others in the future?
Answered by Niall
on March 18th, 2019
Hi John This is the same Piping if it is the blue one you have. It is a tight fit and the piping needs to be put in hot water before forcing in to the corner pieces. They are purposely tight so that they don't pop out in strong winds but you have the right piping Niall Quickcrop

Hello, what is the minimum width that you would recommend for the tunnel kit - I have a narrow spot that I would like to use it on but not sure at what point the pipe would fold rather than bend?
Answered by Andrew
on January 08th, 2016
Hi Richard. Unless the bed was very narrow I can't see you would have a problem. I have just tested a 1m length in the warehouse and had to cross it over before I could get it to fold so am confident it will work for your application. I hope this helps. Andrew

Hi Johanna. Sorry if the photo is misleading but we use timber for all the frames, the plastic is just rolled at the end so conceals the timber behind.

HI Andrew I constructed the same sort of mini covering in the polytunnel this winter for my crops and was thanking off doing the same thing for one outdoor main bed to protect my cabbage and cauliflower com the butterflies. The bed is 9x18 feet could you tell me how much kit I would need and a rough cost. Regards Dennis
Answered by Andrew
on March 11th, 2015
Hi Dennis. I figure you will probably be better splitting the bed in 2 as 9ft is a very wide span. I'd make 2 tunnels 4.5 foot wide by 9 ft long. You will need 2 basic kits @ €24.95 each plus 2 extension kits @ €8.95 each. Total €42.95.
Asked By Tessa Weaver

What diameter piping does this kit take to make the hoops?
Answered by Andrew
on March 10th, 2015
The pipe you need is 25mm blue water pipe. We will have it on the site by the end of the week but it is also available in most good builders merchants. You may need to buy a full roll from the hardware shop while we will supply in the 3 and 4 ft lengths.
