How does this thing work?

It's easy! All plants in this tray are supplied in rows of 1.
Choose each row of plants by scrolling through the list above and clicking 'add' under your choice.

Your plant tray is complete when all 6 sections are filled with a photo.

If you change your mind about any of your selections click 'Clear' and choose another crop from the list.

For more information on each plant please click the blue 'i' button beside the photo.

To order your finished plant tray please click the yellow 'Add to Cart' button above.

We have chosen to supply smaller 60-90cm trees for a number of reasons but I guess the main ones from your point of view is that they are more cost effective but will also produce a much better tree.

Bare root tree seedlings available online

As you can see in the image above, tree roots don't mirror the shape of the canopy below ground but spread out much further than the tree in a wide mat close to the surface. This makes sense as there is more air and nutrients in the top layers of soil. The surface roots form a fine web and are the feeding roots while the deep tap roots below the tree are growing down in search of water.

The problem with replanting larger trees is no matter how much of a root ball you bring with it you will have lost over 50% of the original root mass. Smaller transplants have a more balanced root/stem ratio so will establish quicker and produce a healthier, more stable tree.

Staking a newly planted bare root tree

Staking Trees
One of reasons trees need to be staked when planted is that their canopy is out of balance with their root systems. Staking is almost inevitable with a large transplant but is not necessary with trees below 120cm. A tree needs an amount of movement when young as this strengthens up the trunk and also gives it it's taper. Trunk movement also stimulates root growth so although staked trees might grow taller quicker than unstaked trees, their trunks are weaker and their root systems are less developed.

This Autumn we are offering the following varieties, all 120cm or below. I will be providing more information on tree planting in the coming weeks but for now please drop me a mail if you need help either choosing or planting a tree, my email is

Great customer service is what we are all about. You will never have to worry about damages, the item not being as expected or simply deciding you don’t want the item and you wish to return it. If you've changed your mind about your purchase, please return it in its original condition with proof of purchase within 35 days of receiving your order and we'll exchange or refund it. We will also refund the standard delivery charge, provided you return the full order. If you're only returning some of the items on your order, then we will only refund the cost of those items. Please note that the goods must be returned in the same condition that they left us in so if you have opened your parcel you must ensure it is well enough packed to arrive undamaged.

Damaged Goods Returns
If the parcel is visibly damaged upon delivery, Do Not Sign for the Order. After that just email us on and we will do the rest. Obviously it is not always possible to spot a damage in that moment of delivery so don’t worry. As soon as you open your parcel if the goods are not as they should be just email us a photo of the issue clearly explaining the problem. We will be back to you within the day with a solution. This is normally to arrange a collection at a time that suits you and arrange for a replacement to be sent out. We have very few damages so we act very quickly. Please note the photo is important so we can show the damage to our couriers and be refunded for the delivery cost.

A Simple Return
So you have decided on receipt of the goods that you simply don’t want them. Just email us at explaining that you want to return your goods stating your name and your order number. It is your responsibility to return the goods to us but once they have been received and checked at our end we will issue a full refund including your original delivery charge.
