Hi Niall, it's around a foot high so on second thoughts maybe a higher liner would be requited? How long could I expect a liner to last as well please? Thank you.

Hi again Rhodri The liners for a 14" high bed (roughly) x 8ft x 3ft are £7.95 each and will last between 12/15 years in soil. This particular size is not on the website but i can give it to you if you like. Just phone the office and we will sort it out for you Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi, I'm looking for a liner for a raised bed to protect the wood. I tried using tarpaulin but it's now like paper! The bed is on soil, and I've read on your Q&A section that a 9" depth would be sufficient for that. The size of the bed is approx 8feet by 3 feet. How much would a liner be please? I need three. Thank you, Rhodri.

I'm considering getting your split level raised bed. Which sized liner should I buy?

Hi Russ If you just order the liner for the 21 inch 6ft x 4ft liner it will work with the Split Level bed Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi, do you need to use a liner if your raised is being placed on soil? As your square foot vegetable gardening says... "If your Square Foot Garden is being placed on garden soil or grass a 9 inch high raised bed would be sufficient as the roots of your plants will be able to grow into the soil below the bed. I don’t recommend a weed control membrane between the beds and the soil as you want to encourage earthworms up into the soil mix as they help to keep it aerated and fertilized."

Not if it is going on soil for the very reason Andrew explains on the website. They really are only for when beds are going on patios or driveways etc Regards Niall Quickcrop

Hi Niall Many thanks for your reply but I was thinking of protecting the wood, not prevent weeds. That's why I said that I didn't need it for the base. Or is the wood treated sufficiently to last for ...... years??
Answered by Niall
on April 13th, 2018
Hi Geraldine The wood is treated sufficiently to last with moisture getting on to it from the soil so i wouldn't worry about that. I am not sure that the liner would extend the life by much. Niall Quickcrop

Hello Andrew You have kindly supplied me with 2 raised beds, 8' x 3' - 14" depth (you call tell what age I am!!). They're great and now assembled and in situ. Could you provide lining for both please - I'm not really bothered about lining the base of the bed, just the insides of the wood. Is this possible?
Answered by Niall
on April 12th, 2018
Hi Geraldine If you want to phone the office we can arrange for a larger liner for you to fit these beds no problem although a 14 inch deep bed doesn't really require a liner unless going on a patio as nothing will grow up through that depth of soil Regards Niall Quickcrop

I'm thinking of getting 6x3 9" high beds with liners but if the same liner fits a 9" high bed as a 21" high one, how high are the sides of your liners - will I need to trim the sides to fit?
Answered by Andrew
on July 13th, 2017
Thats right Dave. However i am happy to get it cut exactly to size before it leaves the warehouse if you just email me the order number once order is placed. Normally you just fold down the tops before fixing it to the inside of the beds

Do we need to make drainage holes in the liners or are they water-permeable?
Answered by Andrew
on April 18th, 2017
Hi Julia. The liners are semi permeable so you will not need to make holes in the material.

Do I understand from your answer on 11th August 2016 that your liners come with a base section
Answered by Andrew
on April 05th, 2017
Hi Margaret. The liner is a single piece of landscaping fabric that is placed in the bottom of the bed and stapled around the sides. The previous question referred to a 6x6ft bed which is wider than the fabric we stock so was supplied in 2 pieces. In answer to your question, n, the liner does not come with a base section.

we are novices using reconditioned heat treated pallet collars .6 x .8 for raised beds. We don't really want to line - is this safe? How do we get liner to fit only the sides of our 'boxes' of varying depths? Would appreciate any advice.
Answered by Andrew
on August 11th, 2016
hello, yes they will be safe to use but will probably rot quite quickly with no lining. All raised bed liners are some type of landscaping fabric and can easily be cut to size to fit your raised beds

On your response to my question on how to fit the liner to my 21" raised bed, you say it should not be in two pieces but the liner I have received from you is in two pieces. Am I to understand that it should not be ?
Answered by Andrew
on April 11th, 2016
Hi Carol. If you have a 6x6 bed the liner is supplied in 2 pieces as we don't have a width sufficient to supply in one. The sheets should be overlapped by approx 32 inches and will make no difference to the performance of the bed. I hope this helps. Andrew

I have a 21 inch raised bed and have just received the liner It appears to be in two pieces could you pleased give me some guidance on how to fit the liner
Answered by Andrew
on April 06th, 2016
Thank you for your question Carol. The liner is only for the base and it runs up the side of the beds about 1ft so it shouldn't be in two pieces. Really the liner is to stop any leeching of soil out the base or to stop weeds growing up through the beds. You just have to lay it on the base of the bed and staple loosely to all four sides. Once you start filling with soil it won't go anywhere.
