In a nutshell....

Size

The Quickcrop mini tunnel kit is a DIY kit for building a sturdy and long lasting mini polytunnel for plant and raised bed protection. Mini polytunnels can be fixed to raised beds to create a compact growhouse, fixed to the ground with our peg system or used inside a full sized tunnel to create a heat retaining double glazing effect. This tunnel comes with a mesh netting cover for plant protection. Our kits use pressure treated timber for the frame and thick plastic tubing to create the structure. The clever bit is our unique fixing system for attaching the frame together, securing the tubular supports and fixing the poly or mesh to the frame. You can easily build a tunnel in 30 mins which will last you for many years. The covers can be removed and changed if needed.

Hi. Can you advise if you would need a cover for potatoes. I have 2 raised beds one which I plan to have for potatoes and the other mixed veg. Would I only need the cover for the mixed veg bed?
Answered by Niall
on March 22nd, 2021
Hi Bernie No need for a cover on potatoes unless you are trying to bring on potatoes very early by planting overwinter or in January February. But from March on there is no need for a cover for them Niall Quickcrop

Hi there, I have your 4x4ft allotment bed and will be planting herbs, carrots, onions, garlic and lettuce. Is this poly tunnel kit the best option for successful growing or the giant easy fleece tunnel? Thanks a mill! Karen
Answered by Niall
on March 20th, 2021
Hi Karen The Giant tunnels are only 2ft to 2.5ft wide so you would be best with the Mini Polytunnel with mesh to protect the carrots. The rest of the crop does not really need any covering Niall Quickcrop

Hi,Can you please advise what is the quantity/ dimensions of Mesh that comes with the 4ftx4ft "Complete Mini Polytunnel Kit with Mesh Net Cover"??? Both frame & mesh needed for the project will need to be reduced to size. Would I be better to purchase both kit & mesh seperately?
Answered by Niall
on March 18th, 2021
Hi Margo It is the 4.5m x 2.1m Micromesh that we supply for the 4ft x 4ft Mini Polytunnel. It is cheaper to buy the kit on its own and a larger section of mesh and cut it to size if you are doing a few of these units. Niall Quickcrop

on July 21st, 2020
Hi Niall, The deluxe raised bed I bought was the 6'x3' size. If I bought the poly tunnel kit in the 6' x 4' could it somehow be adjusted onsite to fit over the 6'x3' deluxe raised bed? Or can you make a bespoke one for me?
Answered by Niall
on July 22nd, 2020
Hi Christine The only way the mini polytunnels work with the deluxe beds is to fit the unit on the inside of the posts. If you want to email us the exact dimensions on the inside of your posts we can get this done alright. Please email our main email quickcrop@gmail.com with this information and we will get this sorted for you Niall Quickcrop

Hi Quickcrop, Does the mini poly tunnel kit with mesh cover fit the Quickcrop deluxe raised bed? I don’t want gapping.
Answered by Niall
on July 21st, 2020
Hi Christine I am afraid due to the fact that the posts on the deluxe units are above the bed you can't sit the mini polytunnel over the complete bed so you would have to make it to sit on the inside of the posts. This would leave you with some uncovered space Niall Quickcrop

Hi I have made some raised beds out of large Potato boxes measuring 6ft by 4ft. I have planted Brussels, Cauli and Broccoli in them. will the tunnel be high enough to grow these? I note a previous question suggests using the centre of the tunnel for purple brocoli. I am acomplete beginner so have no real idea how high these crops will grow to!!!
Answered by Niall
on May 24th, 2020
HI Tim Yes you can grow these crops in the mini polytunnel but yes you would need to grow these crops up the centre of the unit as they do get quite tall particularly the Broccoli Niall Quickcrop

Is it better to buy a mesh cover or a poly cover? What are the pros and cons of them? Where did you get your bigger polytunnel? Thanks in advance!
Answered by Niall
on June 21st, 2019
Hi Ahmed. They are for very different things. The mesh cover will protect against Cabbage and Carrot Root fly and other small travelling insects. The Poly cover will create heat and stop anything getting in even rain and wind. So the polycover is to enchance growing conditions the mesh to protect against insects that might destroy your plants Niall Quickcrop

The Polytunnel kit without mesh is €49.95 and a roll of mesh is €30, totalling €79.95. But this complete kit which includes mesh is €89.95. What is the difference that makes it more expensive??

Asked By Raymond

Just received 6x4 version. There are 10 small brackets with each having 2 screw holes which are not in the component list and also ten plastic washers (says steel on the web). How do these interrelate if indeed they do. Also 19 screws are included which are not enough for all parts to be screwed although the component list none.
Answered by Andrew
on April 15th, 2019
Hi Raymond. The plastic peg and washer is a new addition to the kit which allows you to easily remove the cover if it needs replacing. The pegs are screwed to the timber frame and the cover secured by puncturing with the peg. The washer is fitted over the peg when the cover has been fitted to secure. removal is the reverse of this procedure. As regards the screws, it looks like a packing error which I must apologise for. Can I ask you to email me your order number and I will have replacements sent out today. My mail is andrew@quickcrop.ie
