Vegetable Plants Delivered

Order seedling plug plants now for late April / May delivery. We grow all our vegetable seedlings up to 4-6 weeks old and then send them out once we have them hardened off. Hardening off vegetable plants means gradually exposing them to colder temperatures to get them ready to be planted out.

The beginners bed is an ideal introduction to vegetable growing. We've included very easy to grow crops which are packed with flavour and goodness. These are the crops I grew myself for the first year and are responsible for my addiction to vegetable growing.

Why not add a herb six pack to compliment your vegetable garden? Contains six healthy young Thyme, Oregano, Chives, Sage, Rosemary and parsley. Enjoy the unmistakable flavour of fresh herbs in your home cooking. See 'what else do I need' below.

The beginners Garden plant tray contains the following:

14 x Beetroot

14 x Carrot (Short root variety)

7 x Mizuna

7 x Rocket

14 x Spring Onion

4 x Swiss chard

3 x Perpetual Spinach

14 x Sugar Snap Pea

7 x Lettuce Mix

My poly tunnel is full of plants, all from aquickcrop . They are growing like mad. None has failed and I have very little problems with pests so they are organically grown. We are eating our own salads every day and they are delicious.

The plants I received were good quality and produced good crops for me last year. I was a little disappointed with the carrots as it wasn't clear they were round stumpy carrots which I think should be pointed out. I found out from another gardener on my allotment why you can't grow long root varieties in plant trays which is fine but it wasn't very clear. Very pleased with the other plants and will be ordering again, a good service.

Are there any (beginner's) plug plants I could buy now, in early September, to plant out now, or do I need to wait until spring? Thanks, Tara ((Northern Ireland)

Hi Tara. If you are planting outside in Northern Ireland you are really at the end of the planting season. I would recommend overwintering onions and garlic now which are planted in September for harvesting next Summer. Autumn planted garlic will be larger than Spring planted varieties. If you are looking for some plug plants to put in try any of the oriental salads (oriental mix, mizuna, rocket) which will produce tasty leaves up to the end of October. I hope this helps. Andrew
