Easy To Make Raised Vegetable Garden Bed

The square easy assemble raised bed kit is a high quality kit made from thicker 1.5 inch boards for a longer life. No tools or fixings are required for assembly, it can be easily put together by hand, the tongue and groove system locks tight and the special 'Lock Cut' at the corners make it quite difficult to disassemble. This 4ft square raised bed is a great starter raised bed and makes the perfect addition to any vegetable garden, back yard, allotment, polytunnel or greenhouse.

These raised beds retain their rustic looking natural timber finish even after they have been pressure treated. We treat all our raised bed timber to last longer, and the treatment process we use is certified by the soil association as perfectly safe for use with organic food crops. The treatment doesn't horribly discolour or leave a nasty smell or feel on the wood. These kits will nicely fit in with any garden design type.

We have our timber pressure treated after it is cut to our requirements at the local sawmill. This means that after the boards have been cut to size and shaped with the tongue and groove system, we treat them so that none of the timber remains untreated. Alot of other raised bed manufacturers treat their wood and then cut in an effort to save time and costs. This leads to untreated ends on the timber that suck up moisture and become prone to rot and warp. Our easy assemble raised beds will last at least 8 to 10 years of vegetable gardening. Click for more info on raised beds.

Choose Your Size:
Different crops require different depths of soil and extra boards can be added to build your raised garden bed higher if required. We stock these raised beds in 3 different heights: 11in, 16.5in and 22 inches high. Please use the 'Height' selector tab above the 'Add To Cart' button to choose the required one.

We try and keep our delivery charges as low as possible, we only charge €3.95/£3.95 delivery per order. This applies to all our raised bed ranges regardless of the size of the order.

Beware if ordering two beds that they come as component pieces, not separate kits. I added too many slats to my first bed and couldn't get apart so ended up with different sized beds. As a seventy year old woman I found that rubbing the jointed areas with candle wax made assembly much less work. Beds are much stronger than I expected, Really good buy.

Just like my boy's blocks these boards click together easily just by putting a bit of weight on them. Very thick timber too so I can see it lasting a good many years.

Very good box planter that is quite heavy. The planks are second to none, nicely cut and clean.

Definately very easy to assemble, I got two of these chaps for the corners in my garden, 4 by 4 foot was exactly what I needed. These went together simply and then I lowered them into place. No problems or regrets.

Bought this along with a deluxe. Love both. Easy to assemble is right. I watched the video and dug out the hammer, only needed it twice. This was a breeze, took me five minutes and it looks superb. Many thanks.

I have nothing negative to say about my dealings with Quickcrop. The raised beds I bouht are fantastic and so easy to put together. I hope to deal with this company again soon. Thank you for your service.

Finally assembled my beds this weekend. Very easy to put together and look great. The only negative is I was expecting 4ft x 4ft growing space but the dimensions refer to the full width of the box and the growing space is a little over 3 ft x 3ft so I can’t fit in as much as I had planned.

Hi, I'm planning to convert part of my lawn by adding raised beds for planting veg - probably potatoes, onions and maybe peas / beans. Can you tell me which depth would work? I'll dig out the grass but will basically want to drop these straight on top of my overgrown lawn area. Thanks
Answered by Niall

Hi Sally For 90% of crops the 11 inch high bed will be sufficient however if you want to grow root crops like potatoes, carrots, parsnips etc you will need to go for the 16 inch high beds Niall Quickcrop

Hi, is it OK to put these planters onto a lawn? Or do I need to dig out the lawn first? Thank you!
Answered by Andrew

Hi Laura. Yes, you can place this planter directly on the lawn. I would recommend digging the ground over and removing the grass first or using a lining material in the bed. I hope this helps. Andrew

I have (stupidly!) put in one of the boards the wrong way, is there a tested & tried method of disassembly? In too much of a rush & distracted by my neighbour 😭 Any advice, help or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. It was all going so well.... Kind regards Jacqueline
Answered by Niall
on March 11th, 2019
This is a tricky one Jacqueline. The only way is to use an old piece of wood to tab the ends back up very gradually on each side however you would want to be very gentle with it or you could break the ends. The alternative is to use brute force and you will break the top board which we can replace for you at a reduced price Niall Quickcrop

Hi, just following up from your response to my last question. I would like to order the smaller 3ft bed. Do you also supply the soil I need to grow vegetables? Also, for this size, I would love if you could recommend quantity of veg to plant. I am mainly interested in spinach, beetroot, salad and tomatoes, thanks

Do you sell Easy Assemble Raised Bed Kits, different sizes. I am looking to buy 1 100cm x 100cm. and 2 100cm x 150cm.
Answered by Andrew
on April 23rd, 2018
Hi Unni. The boards used for the beds are either 180cm or 120cm so the closest we could do is a 120 x 120 bed. We can do different sizes in out other ranges of beds but not with the easy assemble model. Having said that all are beds are easy to put together so I am sure we can find a solution to suit.

Hi, what soil do I put in raised bed and how much I need for 4x4ftx11inch or 16.5inch? Do I need soil from top to bottom of the bed?
Answered by Andrew
on May 02nd, 2017
Hi Julie. It depends where the bed is going. If placed on soil I would use a 60/40 topsoil and compost mix. Of going on a hard surface I would use compost only. The 11in takes 269 litres while the 16.5 takes 400 litres. Yes, I would fill the beds to the top. I hope this helps. Andrew
